FAQ
How do I play all segments from a particular show?
Short answer- you can’t. Long answer- this capability is currently under development, and should become available by April’ish. The story is, I’m using the built-in QuickTime player to play the streaming audio right now. This player offers very limited programmatic control over its behavior. So limited, it haven’t been able to figure out how to write a player queue using it. So, I’ve been “rolling my own” streaming audio player.
Can I add multiple segments to a queue and play them sequentially?
Not right now. See How do I play all segments from a particular show? above.
Can I bookmark a station or podcast?
No. The bookmarking capabilities were developed in an early version, and don’t work with station finder results or podcasts. In a future update, the bookmarks will work with everything. There’s always more to do!
Why are the lists in “Browse” organized that way?
Simple! That’s way NPR provides the information to me. As I mentioned somewhere (not sure where), the application is an almost-direct-reflection of the NPR API. As such, I didn’t spend any time reorganizing lists or stories returned from NPR.
Can I stream live audio from NPR radio stations?
Not yet. Try Public Radio Tuner in the meantime! They did an excellent job with that app- I’m sure you’ll love it!
